Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies

The addition of chopped maraschino cherries makes these classic chocolate chip cookies so deliciously different. Bonus...the cherries also make them a perfect cookie to serve this Valentine's Day!!

Ingredients

2 sticks butter, melted and cooled
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped maraschino cherries

Recipe Instructions

Mix melted butter and sugars until well mixed. Add in the egg and egg yolk and mix well. Mix in the milk and vanilla. Mix wet ingredients well. In a separate bowl, sift the flour, salt, and baking soda together. Gradually add into the wet ingredients until just mixed. Stir in the chocolate chips and choppped cherries. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hr. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Scoop cookies onto your USA Pan cookie sheet pan. Six cookies per pan. Cookies should be about the size of a golf ball. Bake for 11-15 minutes until just beginning to brown. Remove from oven to cool completely.
