Chocolate Cherry Bark

What goes together better than chocolate and cherries? This is the perfect Valentine's Day dessert. Cherry flavoring mixed with bittersweet chocolate, all topped with a white chocolate layer and your favorite candies. We've stayed with the cherry chocolate theme and used candy covered cherry-chocolate candies as well as heart shaped sprinkles. You could use plain chocolate covered candies on yours, or even maraschino cherries!

Featured Bakeware:

USA Pan Jelly Roll

Ingredients

2 2/3 cups chopped bittersweet chocolate or chips
1 teaspoon cherry flavoring
2 cups white chocolate
assorted sprinkles/candy for topping

Recipe Instructions

Very gently melt the bittersweet chocolate. As always, when melting chocolate, it is best to go low and slow. We usually keep about 5% of the chocolate out. When the chocolate is just about melted, take it out and add the 5% and keep stirring. It will continue to melt. Stir the 1 tsp cherry flavoring into the chocolate. Pour onto your USA pan jelly roll pan. You can spread as thin or thick as you like. If you have an offset spatula, it is so easy to spread! Now, let the chocolate sit. You can place in refrigerator and keep a close eye on it. You want it to be just about set up, but not completely hard. This is important so the layers adhere together. You should be able to press the chocolate and have a little on your finger. Then, melt the white chocolate using the same method as the dark layer. Spread evenly over the dark chocolate layer. Top with the cherry flavored candy coated chocolates, if using, as well as sprinkles. Or, use your favorite candy or toppings. Allow to harden completely and then break into pieces. ENJOY!!
